ELECTION CAMPAIGN<>WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

Everyone is so busy now. They must be busy thinking who they are going to vote for or helping out with the Candidates in their campaign. I was shocked to hear on the amount of money that would be used by Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya to manage the coming elections. Of course, they would need the fund to manage the elections.
But have you sat and thought at the traffic lights while waiting for your turn, where in the world that the parties campaigning for this election, get their money? You can just see huge banners, posters, flags almost everywhere. To have them, you need to have money. And of course someone need to go and paste or hang them at the designated areas. You will need to pay his salary too. I would wonder where in the world that this group of people get the money? Just imagine allocating similar amount of money to NGO's, Welfare Organizations and desperate poor people who really needs a shelter on top of their heads, or allocating these amount of money to spearhead a child education to the next level. You could do all these wonders but no. Instead it is wasted on campaigning. What a shame!!!. If indeed you have been a good leader and have been serving your people, you dont need all this crap. This is really a shame.

Accidents On The Road

Recently I read in the newspaper on the success of the Ops Sikap. The number of fatlity incidents on the roads have been reduced. Many are pretty happy with it. I cannot recall the exact numbers but there were more than hundred fatality incidents during the period of watch. By right, we should not be having that many. This is peoples' LIFE. A lot has to do with attitude of people on the road.
We read about the tragedy of the ferry, and the 2 incicents that involved the buses. A lot of hoo-hah in the first few weeks. There were officers from the JPJ and the Traffic Police doing continuous spot checks. It was indeed very surprising too see them doing some work at last but like the malay proverb says<>"Hangat-hangat Tahi Ayam"<>. Similarly it applies to the news that appears in our local newspapers. Until today, I still do not havea clear idea on what are the steps taken to prevent such an incident. We are always very reactive in our actions. which we are extremely good at.
If we take a look at the bus drivers, have we ever wondered why the drivers tend to take the so called energizing pills to keep them going for a few trips? Have we set a good base pay for these drivers as they too have families? Have we checked on their history even before we employ them? What is happening with the so called routine checks that the aged vehicles go through at PUSPAKOM? Similarly it applies to the ferry incident at Pulau Tioman and it makes one to wonder how many of the technicians that works at the ports are qualified technicians and know what to do in the event of an accident? Can you just imagine this taking place with one of the ferries at Penang?
Just wait and lets wait and lets wait for another incident to take place before we start at what we are good at<>finger pointing and jumping and creating hoo-hah again.....nothing strange about that right?

Teaching The Young To Be Discipline

I read an article written by a parent as well as a teacher. I kind of agree with him. He is questioning on where our education policy is being routed to? To tell you the truth, I have no idea my self. Everytime, someone new comes in as a Minister or DG in the education department or even as a principal/headmaster in a new school, things change according to his interest. There is no continuity at all. This actually makes the entire system that we have in a mess. Who is going to get the blame? Of course, who else can we blame as parents, our fingers will directly point to the teachers. A pity lot they are for the screw up done by the higher people within the system it self.

Lets take a look at the discipline in school.. There is no authority at all for teachers to punish the students. Of course if teachers go overboard, then we will be angry. Common, we use to have detention classes those days back in the 70's and 80's. If you tell your parents you need to go for detention classes, then you get a few strokes of rotan or belt first. Then you can go to the detention class. Today, if teachers scold the students, or ask them to wash the toilets, or ask them to stand up on the chairs, the entire community will come up to the teachers. But you cannot blame the parents too, coz we need to understand how these teachers were selected. Any tom, dick or harry can be a teacher now coz we are having limited teachers.

So, is it a surprised then our country is being turned into a hooliganism country? Not a surprise right. You can see all kind of harassment, be it at work, school, or even as you walk down the street.

We should go for the correct selection process. Then we should give teachers some authority to discipline the children. Remember, children spent more time in school then in their own house. We must educate the children on what is right and what is wrong from the young. They can have all the money that they want, but what is the point if they have no self-respect for themselves?

Education is not merely passing the exams with straight 'A's which I have serious doubts. If the teachers are so good, then they should be posted to interior schools for 2 years at least and bring up the standards in that school as well as to train up the other teachers to be as good as them. My Goodness grace, how can a student score 13A's for SPM? I really wonder if they mistakenly typed Standard 6 questions for a form five level or were the exam papers somehow leaked? These are some of the questions that keeps on playing in my mind. Some students are naturally good. No doubt on that. But what makes me to question these people are, as they go into Universities, and when they come out to work, you should actually see how the converse in English. Huhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Enough said. Hope to hear comments....

MAT REMPITS

WONDER WHY THESE SO CALLED IDIOTS ARE ON THE ROAD? MAYBE, WE SHOULD START TO BRING THE MINIMAL AGE OF GETTING A LICENCE TO 21 YEARS OF AGE, WHERE PEOPLE TEND TO GET MORE MATURED. THEY ARE SUCH A NUISANCE ON THE ROAD AND CREATING A LOT OF PROBLEMS TO OTHER USERS. SOMETIMES, THEY DYING ON THE ROAD IS FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION. LESS IDIOTS ON THE ROAD.
ON TOP OF THAT WE THE NATION IS TRYING ALL AVENUES FOR THEM TO PRACTISE THEIR SKILLS, IF NOT ON THE ROAD, THEN MAYBE IN A STADIUM. WHY? THEY HAVE NO WORK TO DO? THEY HAVE NO TIME TO GO AND UPGRADE THEIR SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE? OR DO WE WANT ALL MALAYSIANS TO BE MAT REMPITS AND INCLUDE THAT IN OUR DAILY IKRAR BEFORE WE DO OUR WORK OR STUDY?
